Library Guide, Downloadable IndexesIntroductionThis section contains a guide to the library, and some simple, downloadable indexes: copies of our bibliography that you can store on your disk and consult anytime, even when you are not connected to the Internet. These are three stand alone HTML documents, without attachments or graphic images: 1. Complete Bibliography. Allows a search by coauthor, keyword and other terms. This is described below. 2. Papers On File Sorted By Filename. This lists the papers we have uploaded sorted by the filename, which is the first author name plus title. Filename conventions are described below. 3. Papers On File Sorted By Date. This lists the papers we have uploaded, sorted by date last modified, with the most recent papers first. When we change or correct an error in an older paper, the date is changed and the paper moves to the top of the list.. You can directly access the library folder here: http://lenr-canr.org/acrobat/ Because many of our readers and contributors are outside of North America, and many use older computers with old browsers and slow Internet access, this web site is designed with minimum use of features such as pop-up menus and Javascript. All screens use your browser's default font, and respond to font size change commands. For people who have limited Internet access, we can provide the entire content of this web site (including all HTML screens and papers) on a CD-ROM. Contact Jed Rothwell, 770-456-5234. Many of our readers prefer to find papers via Google. Here is a copy of the Google access screen which is set to search within this web site: |
Select " Access Library." This screen appears:
If your browser does not support frames an error message will appear directing you to return here, to this section, where you can select a simple index or a downloadable index. If you experience some other difficulty or a non-responsive screen due to problems with Internet, we recommend you select a simple index.
When the screen first appears, it shows a list of letters at the top, authors in the left column, and a summary of papers on the lower right. This is the list authors with full papers available at this site. Click on one of the letters at the top of the screen to jump down to author names beginning with that letter, or scroll through the list of authors on the left. When you find the author you are looking for, click on the name, and a list of papers by that author appears on the right.
You can see more details about the papers listed here. Clicking " DETAILS" or the " Download" button, and this screen appears:
This page shows co-authors, keywords and — for the papers in the library — the abstract.
Press the download button again to see the full paper in Acrobat format.
When this screen first appears, the "Authors with full papers here" list is selected. It is shown in red:

You can press one of the other buttons to see additional lists: All Authors, Categories and Publications. The list of All Authors includes over 3,500 papers, many more than we have on file. The category index includes only paper we do have on file, sorted in eight categories: Experiment heat, Experiment particle, Experiment other, Theory, Critique, Review, News report and Miscellaneous. The publication index includes papers in magazines, journals, conferences, books and patents.
As noted above, three simple indexes are available:
2. Papers On File Sorted By Filename.
3. Papers On File Sorted By Date.
To save an index, select it here and when the page appears, click on File (top left of your browser), then "Save As" and save a copy on your hard disk.
This index includes all papers in our bibliography, which includes many more papers than we have uploaded. It allows simple searches using a browser find function. Authors are marked AU= co-authors are marked CA= and keywords KW=. For example:
AU=Abell, G. C.Abell, G.C., et al., Helium release from aged palladium tritide. Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter, 1990. 41(2): p. 1220.
CA=Matson, L. K., CA=Steinmeyer, R. H., CA=Bowman Jr., R. C., CA=Oliver, B. M.To find papers in about diffusion, search for "KW=diffusion." To find papers in which Bockris is the principal author, search for "AU=Bockris." To find papers co-authored by Bockris, search for "CA=Bockris."
Filenames are composed as follows: Take the principal author's last name and initials. Remove spaces, commas, numerals letters with umlauts and any other character outside the range of a-z and A-Z. Truncate to 10 characters.
Take the title of the paper, convert to lowercase, and remove character outside the range of a-z. Truncate to 10 characters. Append to author name. Some authors have published more than one paper with the same title, or with the same first ten letters. In these cases, letters a, b, c . . . are appended:
